Excursions around Cabarete

CABARETE

Caves of Cabarete:  The caves of Cabarete are located at walking distance from Albatros. As you come out of the property you go on your left. You turn left at the first paved street going in the village behind Cabarete. The caves are located at the end of the street.

SOSUA

Visit Sosua and its beach, shops, flea market, bars and restaurants. Take a taxi or public minibus (called guagua). Have a great outing with your teenagers: visit the Monkey Jungle and experience the zipline adventure.

PUERTO PLATA

Its old fort, botanical garden and museum. Ocean World Adventure Park, walk on the Malecon looking at the sea, visit Mount Isabel de Torres and Teleferico. The adventurers will like to climb, jump and slide into the Damajaqua Cascades (27 waterfalls). Take a taxi or public minibus (guagua).

Puerto Plata cable car ride:  The city of Puerto Plata offers a great opportunity to delve into history.  Begin your day with a cable car ride up Mount Isabel de Torres to admire the panoramic view of the bay, and then continue with the visit of the San Felipe Fort, the Amber Museum, the factory bottling of Brugal rum and commercial area.

Ocean World Park, Casino and Marina:  This tour will appeal to the whole family.  Visit the marine zoological park located in Cofresi, which presents the most fascinating marine life of the Caribbean.  You can watch sea lions shows, dolphins, discover a coral aquarium, a bird sanctuary and much more.  Visitors have the opportunity to swim with dolphins or bathe and cool on the beach.

Jeep safari:  A day of adventure with a visit to a plantation of fruit trees and tropical plants.

Cayo Arena, the island of paradise:  The pleasure of a virgin and pristine natural lined with white sand and crystal clear waters.  You can swim among the corals, discover a forest of mangroves and lagoons that is home to unique fauna and flora.  All this is Cayo Arena.

Catamaran:  A relaxing trip, under the sun, cocktail in hand, on an amazing catamaran that will take you onto the transparent waters of the Atlantic.

RIO SAN JUAN

There, you can take a boat tour of the laguna. It is worth to hire a taxi for the day and combine Rio San Juan with lunch on the beach at Playa Caleton or Playa Grande.
